Straight single fullered blade 34.1/4″ in length. 1.1/8″ wide at the ricasso. Spear pointed to the end for about 11.1/2″. Plain ricasso, no makers name but, on the other side the brass “Proved” disc, with a fleur de lisle symbol, stamped into a brass disc, in the centre to the etched Star of David design.  About half the length of both sides of the blade is etched in the normal way with the initials “A.S.C.” underneath the crown design.  On the other side it is clearly marked with the George V royal cypher and crown.  This does look to be a fighting sword with some damage to the leading edge.  Heavy gauge three bar hilt with curved quillion slightly misformed.  The back strap is strongly cross-hatched but the pommel looks to be later workmanship. Possibly to an Indian regiment ?  The fishskin covered grip is intact with the correct three cored wire binding.  On the curved back of the blade are the words “LONDON MADE.
