.22 Model 62A Slide Action Winchester Rifle
s/n 257851 23″ round blued barrel. Blued action, trigger and magazine tube. American walnut stock and 17 groove flat bottom fore-end. Smooth straight grip stock with chequered black plastic Winchester butt-plate.
Chambered for .22 L.S. or LR
Manufactured in 1948 and in fine condition for its age, with a clean sharp bore. 3/4 length tubular magazine. Standard two line Winchester trade mark and address with model and caliber on the left side of the barrel just forward of the breech. Fixed front sight and adjustable rear sights.
This rifle still has about 60-70% of its original finish, thinning at the muzzle and in scattered blotchy areas elsewhere. The stock and slide handle show few scattered pressure dents and scratches- once again an example which has survived in relatively good condition for its advanced years.
The rifle has just passed British proof – marks have been added in early 2009.
