Model 1900 American Luger……….Section 7(1)

Created on April 15th 2026

Excellent example of the American Luger

Produced by DWM in 1900, approximately 11 to 12 thousand of these pistols were imported in the USA. Commercial models are marked “GERMANY” as this example is underneath the serial number on the front of the lower frame.  The barrel is 4.3/4″ long. Serrated grip to the toggle and marked on the top surface with the DWM logo. Chambered in 7.65mm.  (.30 Cal’)

The frame is the long type with a grip safety.  The pistol has a wide trigger and a narrow trigger guard. “Long” receiver with the handsome logo of the American Eagle above the chamber.  The safety at the rear LHS of the frame is unmarked, but is safe in the upright position. The sights are the fixed type, integral to the rear of the toggle.  Any adjustment is made with the dovetail of the front inverted V sight.

Superbly even wear on the checkered Walnut grips.  The magazine slips into the base of the grip and is unmarked.  It has the classic oak base and is released by the mag’ release just behind the trigger on the LHS.  Side pannel release above trigger on LHS for disassembly.  Lanyard ring (bar) at rear of action.  The front of the frame under the barrel is marked “8148 / GEREMANY”

Exterior finish is good, some sings of old pitting, (suspected refinish at some time).  Most parts show some wear, including high edge wear. The exterior of the barrel is very good.  Bore is excellent with strong rifling and no pitting.  Clean and bright with good depth of rifling.  Comes in a reproduction retailers box.

A chance to get your hands on a very rare Luger, one which the American military considered at one point, before opting for Colt.

This item has never been on the UK market before as imported from the USA
