Superb Condition No.4 Rolling Block Take-down Rifle in 25 Stevens
Fine condition Rolling Block with 22″ round barrel. Overall length 36.1/2″. Pull length 13″ to centre. Serial number stamped on underside of barrel just beyond fore-end tip, along with internal factory inspection marks. The serial number, “338515 is clearly repeated on the LH side of the action beneath the model designation. Two piece stock in excellent condition with original varnish. Blued hammer and block – finish is strong, wear is minimal. Strikingly vivid case colour-hardened action, upper tang and trigger guard. Curved steel butt-plate with “Remington/ UMC /TRADE MARK” centrally marked.
Slightly upgraded “V”- notch rear sight and bead front sight set into barrel. Top flat of barrel marked with “Remington / TRADE MARK.” between rear sight and breech. Forward of the rear sight are the manufacturers markings; “REMINGTON ARMS CO. INC, REMINGTON / ILION, WORKS, ILION, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A.” The calibre is marked adjacent to the rear marking on the LHS radius of the barrel; “25 – 10 R.F.” Take-down slotted screw on LHS of action will release barrel. Weapon holds together well no rattle or shake. Pulling the block to the rear actuates the ejector. Excellent bore devoid of pitting, damage or corrosion with strong clear rifling. External surface of barrel has strong blued original finish.
High condition collectors piece worthy of a place in a quality rifle collection.
