Winchester Model 1892 Lever-Action Saddle Ring Carbine
A very good reproduction at a reasonable price and a great way to have all the fun of the lever action shooting scene. Don’t be worried about shooting out a classic Antique weapon of the day – just blast away and concentrate on tuning your shooting skills. At the same time this is no shabby reproduction item, it a high quality copy of the original with no effort spared on the finish. The action is finished with an excellent depth case colour hardening and all the blues are thick and rich. Timbers good too, with minor surface disruption.
Chambered in 44 Magnum with a full length tubular magazine. Serial number “T7271” on underside of action. Saddle ring affixed to LHS of action. The previous owner has invested in the John Wayne oversized cocking lever – always useful when you have to charge towards your opponent and re-load by swing your carbine around, with the reigns of your faithful steed clamped determinedly between your teeth ! The original lever was handed to me at transfer but is now at large somewhere in the bunker…….
The carbine 37.1/2″ in overall length. The round blued barrel is 20″ long and the trigger Pull is 13″ to centre. The bolt and the loading gate contrast strongly against the case coloured action as do the dark stained hardwood stocks, at the point of wood to metal fit. (Very small chip at rear of action in the timber) A handsome carbine. Standard ladder sights – blued. The butt stock has the correct musket style butt-plate. Action smooth. Bore strong with mild indications of usage – mainly lead which will clean away. ” Fill your hand you Sonofabitch….”
