Telescope Scout Regiment Mk II S

Created on March 28th 2020

Part of the Snipers Kit as issued from 1939 onward, the Scout Spotters Scope Mk II S

A good clean, functional, example of the famous Telescope; as issued alongside the Holland & Holland modified No4 Sniper Rifle of British and Commonwealth forces of World War Two.  In its original leather carrying case.  The scope is finished in the Thermoset or “crackle finish.”  Brass construction, most of the applied blued finish is worn away.  Constructed with three draws (four tubes), and eye-piece and a sunshade. The eye-piece has a slide over lens to concentrate the field of view.  The outside of the first draw is marked: “TELE. SCT. REGTS. MK 2 / H.C.R & SON LTD / OS 126 GA /NO 20862 / broad arrow ”  The maker is H C Ryland & Son Ltd.  Optics are good, slight wear to the crackle in two distinct spots – makes you wonder why – repetitive use perhaps ?   Fits well into the case, all straps and stitching complete.  Note there appears to be a varnish spillage on parts of the strap – I at first thought it was a repair but there is no damage.  This could be rectified at your leisure.  An excellent and correct addition to any WW II snipers kit.

 £ 395.
