An excellent example of the O3-A4
Chambered in .30-06. Serial number 3421766. Of standard specification. Mixed parkerised and blued finish. Fitted with a Redfield mount over the action correctly marked “REDFIELD” at rear RHS – parkerised. Fitted in rings WW2 period M82 telescopic sight. 11.3/4″ long with 7/8″ tube and sliding sunshield. Marked on the LHS in 3 lines “TELESCOPE M82 / SERIAL NO 39386 / STOCK NO 84374” Finished in blue with adjustment turrets for windage and elevation all with part numbers and free adjustment. Single post reticule, optics fine. There are a couple of scratches on the eye piece.
The markings on the breech are correctly split for a sniper rifle, on the LHS of the mount; “U.S. / REMINGTON / MODEL 03-A4” on the RHS 3421766 the serial number. Action parkerised, Mauser type bolt blued with “scaloped” bolt arm to clear eyepiece of scope. Correctly marked with an “R” for Remington under the handle. Flag safety marked “READY” and “SAFE”.
Good quality well finished one piece pistol grip stock in American Walnut. Under the magazine cut-off lever is a notch removed from the stock, for full movement of the lever, in the notch is clearly stamped the letter “S”. Twin bolt stock with two final proof circled “P” on front of pistol grip.
Factory inspectors marks visible infront of magazine floor plate on underside. “Stamped-out” forward sling swivles and forend nose cap. Plain unsighted round parkerised barrel with correct markings “R A / flaming bomb / 8-43”. As is correct for this model there have never been any forsights fitted to barrel. Top handguard in fine condition. There are no scratches or dents of any concequense and the stock is nicely finished to a gloss oiled finish. Excellent two groove barrel with no signs of pitting or corrosion. On the LHS in the center of the butt stock is a boxed cartouche which reads; “RIA /FB”. On the wrist is a faint FJA cartouche.
Altogether this rifle is in very fine condition with a scope not normally seen in this country.
