A good standard specification M1903A3 by Remington

Of standard specification as an A3 by Remington for World War Two.  Wartime expedient with pressed steel fittings to stock – all Remington marked.  Stocked in American Black Walnut with hand guard over.

Serial number 3889878 for September 1943.   Receiver marked: “U.S.  /  REMINGTON  / MODEL 03 – A3  /  3889878”

Caliber .30-06 govt’.  Five shot internal magazine.  Mauser-type bolt action with flag safety to rear of bolt.  Action parkerised, bolt blued.  Rear sights blued.  Stock furniture parkerised.  Front nose cap blued.

Barrel markings; “R.A.  / flaming bomb (punched)  / 6 – 43”

Bore: Two groove.  Condition: Excellent

Overall length; 43.1/4″  Barrel length; 24″  Trigger Pull 13″

Stock Markings: Single boxed “P” proof mark.  LHS of stock “S. S.A.A.”  No Factory inspectors marks to front of magazine.  Boxed “O.G.” cartouche for Ogden Arsenal rebuild.  Aperture sights with windage.
