A good standard specification M1903A3 by RemingtonDSC_0416

Of standard specification as an A3 by Remington for World War Two.  Wartime expedient with pressed steel fittings to stock – all Remington marked.  Stocked in American Black Walnut with hand guard over.

Serial number 3487566 for January 1944.   Receiver marked: “U.S.  /  REMINGTON  / MODEL 03 – A3  / 3487566”

Caliber .30-06 govt’.  Five shot internal magazine.  Mauser-type bolt action with flag safety to rear of bolt.  Action parkerised.  Bolt light grey parkerised.  Rear sights blued.  Stock furniture blued.  Butt-plate and trigger guard very little finish.  Nose-cap blued.

Barrel markings; “R.A.  / flaming bomb (punched)  / 3- 44”

Bore: Two groove.  Condition: Excellent

Overall length; 43.1/4″  Barrel length; 24″  Trigger Pull 13″

Stock of light colour, excellent condition.   Faint boxed “FJA” cartouche.   Circled “P” behind trigger guard, straight grip stock.  Factory inspectors marks to front of magazine.   Aperture sights with windage.
