Marlin 1889 Lever Action Rifle .32-20…………………..SOLD

Marlin lever-action 1889 Rifle. s/n 32307 .32-20 cal This rifle has the long 26″ blued octagon barrel and walnut stock. Manufactured prior to the model 1894, it has a silver fixed blade front sight with adjustable buck-horn rear sights. On the barrel there are the standard two line makers address and caliber markings. There is no model designation on the tang. Smooth oiled straight grip walnut stock with excellent patina and superb crescent steel butt plate showing strong casehardened colours . The words “Marlin Safety” on top of the action are faint but readable.

Condition: Possibly period refinished by the factory. Barrel has 95% blue thinning about the high points. The wood is very fine showing scattered dents and dings. A very fine rifle, beautifully balanced and a fine collectible.
