O/U Pistol

This beautiful percussion pistol really takes the breath away on first sight. It has been made in 50 caliber. The casehardened colours are hard to miss as they vividly jump out at you. The British manufactures , Richard Burnand from New Castle-on-Tyne fitted it wit the most exquisite finely chequered walnut grips which are as sharp as the day they were finished circa 1843-1865. The pistol has over and under 4″ barrels with steel swivel ramrod with button head fited below the barrels. Hammers and bolsters are located either side of the finely engraved frame. Removable screws are fitted to the bolsters behind prominent fences for the purpose of cleaning. Hinged engraved colour hardened trap for extra caps and balls are located in the butt-cap. The case hardened colours adorn the barrels, hammers, frame and butt-cap. A niter blue finish covers the triggers and frame screws and a highly polished blue covers the under rib and trigger guard. “R.BURNAND, NEWCASTLE-ON-TYNE” the gun-makers address is engraved on the barrel flat, Birminghan proof marks on the side of the central rib. Excellent English scroll engraving covers many components of the pistol, and the edges of the muzzle are boarder engraved. The hammers are covered in fish scales and the classic monster motif as well as being beautifully coloured.
