Matching serial numbers all over;  D 8008.  Action finished in the White,  the balance apart from the nose-cap/bayonet fitting, blued.  Chambered in 7.65mm.  Overall length 49.1/8″.  Round blued barrel  29.1/4″ long.  Strong rifled bore needs more cleaning, not pitted.  The condition of the action is wonderful.

Superb Mauser action which functions flawlessly.  On the receiver is the Argentinian crest, showing the two right hands shaking in front of a lance with a cap on the top, within a laurel surround, crested by a rising sun.  On the RHS of the receiver is the serial number.  On the LHS is the following;  “MAUSER MODELO / ARGENTINO 1909”  Then along the action wall are the makers details “DEUTSCHE WAFFEN- UND / MUNITIONSFABRIKEN. BERLIN”   Moving backwards along the same side of the action is the extended bolt release catch, which is blued and carries the symbol of the floppy hat from the crest.

The matching bolt is straight handled with the number on the shaft of the bolt.  Breaking with the normal the rest of the bolt is not numbered but instead carries other symbols from the crest on the receiver.  The bolt shroud has the floppy cap on the crest of the shoulder.  The flag safety has the shaking hands.  The magazine follower is also in the white.  Below the serial number in the stock is the serial number and adjacent to that the single Mauser stock cross-bolt.

The rear sights are the usual Mauser type graduated from 300 to 2000 meters and are blued.  The hand-guard surrounds and protects the rear sights, it ends just in-front of the mid barrel band.  From that point forward the barrel extends uncovered to the classic Mauser “H-shaped” fore-band.  This band surrounds the unconventional bayonet fitting, which also houses the full length cleaning rod which also has the full serial number and prefix stamped clearly into it.  The fore-sight is an inverted “V” type, dove tailed into a ramp with excellent cross-hatching on it to reduce glare.

The full length walnut stock has a semi-pistol grip type profile with two sling swivels and a blued steel butt plate.  All of the fixing screws on the rifle have a star or sun mark stamped into them, once again from the crest on the receiver.  The steel butt-plate retains and excellent fire-blued finish.   Underneath the action is the magazine floor plate and trigger guard.  The frame, forward of the plate is fully numbered to the rifle.  The finish is original blued steel and it also has the floppy cap on it.  There is a floor-plate release catch in the front of the trigger guard.  Every aspect of this rifle is craftsman finished, nothing has been left out of the high quality and pride taken in the production of this fine rifle.
