Superbly preserved Eastern Block M48 Polish Trainer by Radom

Condition of this compact trainer suggests it may have been stuck in a time-warp for the last 66 years.  There are minor hints of use in the form of soft high edge wear but it is minimal.  The stock is in equally fine condition being made of Beech and the blueing is strong and original.  This rifle was built to give the uninitiated their first principle lessons in shooting but most resembles the Mosin-Nagant in fittings, furniture and bolt, sights and operation.

Chambered in .22 LR – single shot.  Overall the rifle measures 44″ in length.  The round blued barrel is 24.1/4″ long.  The trigger Pull  to centre is 13.1/2″.  The stock is finger grooved with a straight wrist and has a hand-guard over the barrel. Nagant type rear sights graduated from 25 to 100 meters.  The bore is immaculate with no corrosion at all.  Minimally used with sharp defined rifling.  This is going to be an extremely accurate rifle.  The trigger pull is excellent as if professionally worked upon!

The barrel shank is marked on the upper surface with;- ” 11 circled / 1956 / P W 3 diamond box / ZM1473.”  The serial number is repeated on the heel of the steel butt-plate.  Simple straight arm bolt finished in the white.  The RHS of the butt stock is stamped with “OW” within  a diamond shape, and a solitary “8” also in a diamond, but smaller.  Smooth trigger within a steel trigger guard.  Adjustable post front sight within a protective steel ring -adjustable.  Freshly CIP proofed.
